Ebola case confirmed in Glasgow hospital

A woman who arrived from Sierra Leone and had worked as a healthcare worker in West Africa has been diagnosed with Ebola and is receiving treatment at Glasgow’s Gartnavel Hospital. She will be moved to the specialist isolation unit at the Royal free hospital in north London soon, where William Pooley, the British nurse who recovered from Ebola was treated.

First Minister Mrs.Nicola Sturgeon assured at a press conference that the risk to general public is very low and said: “Apart from other passengers on the flights and obviously the hospital staff since this patient’s admittance to hospital, she, the patient is thought to have had contact with only one other person in Scotland since returning to Scotland last night and that person will also be contacted and given appropriate reassurance.”
